APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED
Cotic is a growing bike company based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, specialising in high performance steel mountain and gravel bikes, which we design and develop, market, distribute and sell directly ourselves.
We now need someone to join our team to cover the Maternity Leave of our current Dispatch Administrator. We need an organised individual to help us with packing frames and bikes, booking couriers and processing postal orders, and helping support events that Cotic attend.
No bike industry experience or even previous bicycle experience at all required, though it would be desirable to have some basic knowledge of bicycles and bicycle mechanics. The successful applicant will be first and foremost organised, motivated, a fast learner, you will need have an eye for detail, and not afraid to seek to improve processes. You will be good with people, and happy to talk on the phone and in person at events. You will be computer literate – competent with email, data entry, and social media.
The job requires you to work full time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday at our HQ in Chesterfield.
Event working at up to 5 weekend events over the course of the year is also required (mainly through summer - May to August). Dates for which will be agreed well in advance, with time off in lieu for any weekend days worked – i.e. if you work a Saturday and Sunday, you get two days off in lieu afterwards.
Cotic is a small, close knit team of 8 people. Our values are rooted in respect for our employees and customers. We champion diversity and inclusivity. We are committed to equal opportunity for all and we embrace new and different perspectives. As well as contributing to keeping stoke high by getting bikes to customers as quickly as possible, we welcome any and all ideas across any part of the business. You can be an influence as much or as little as you like.
You can learn more about us on the About page on our website: www.cotic.co.uk/about
Responsibilities will include:
Dispatch and QC:
Weekend Event Support:
Additional But Not Essential Duties:
Cotic is a small business, where all our staff perform a number of different roles depending on their experience and capability. Flexibility is key, and we all help each other out when we need to.
Here at Cotic, every single frame we sell is faced, chased and prepped by us, and every single bicycle we sell is assembled from the frame up, right here in the UK. As such:
These are very much “nice-to-haves” and if you are mechanically competent and keen to learn, then training will be provided for you to get involved helping in the workshop.
It is also worth nothing that our current Dispatch Assistant set up and managed our Cotic Women Of Steel female cycling group and events, reported our Google Analytics and assisted with book keeping. Whilst not the core activities we need covered during her absence, any skills, experience or competence in some or all of these areas would be advantageous.
What Can You Offer?
You may not possess all, or indeed any of the “nice-to-have” additional skills we need with help with, but that shouldn't put you off applying. If you have something you think would be a useful addition to what we do, then let us know and tell us why it would be great. Our current Dispatch Assistant wasn't initially employed to do many of the things she now does for us, but she grew into the job, brought her own thoughts and perspectives, and Cotic is all the better for it as a result. What can you offer?
