Solaris is THE trail hardtail. Over 20 years of hardtail heritage, development and character has distilled the Solaris into your downcountry tool of choice. It's confidence inspiring, agile and fun. A singletrack scalpel one moment, planted and fast on the rocks the next.
The Solaris uses our radical Longshot geometry for sweet, short stem handling, technical trail confidence and roomy cockpit for long distance comfort.
The Reynolds 853 frame has our famously subtle and traction rich ride feel, with plenty of space for bags and bottles for long days in the saddle.
All of this adds up to give the Solaris amazing adaptability. It can switch between a high precision trail centre carver, to a 2.6" tyre high traction monster truck. It's a light and lively XC blade, a bikepacking rig, map crossing smoothie, or just your Mountain Bike. Where will your Solaris take you?
The brand new Solaris is a proper modern mountain bike, brimming with Cotic DNA. It is light, fast, capable and fun; we've been doing Downcountry for decades.
Development of stiffer and lighter short travel forks like the awesome Rockshox SID, has allowed us to focus the travel to 100-130mm and build a lighter trail hardtail frame using custom Reynolds 853 tubing. It retains the confidence inspiring character, tough nature and signature Cotic feel, at an all-day pedal friendly weight.
Our Longshot Geometry with it's slack head angle, long reach, short stem and lower BB allows you rip through singletrack corners easier than ever, and our new 5 step C-sizing reduces steps between sizes and seat tube lengths, giving more precise rider fit and comfort.
It's not just a trail ripper, the Solaris has multiple bosses on top of the down tube, as well as triple/anything cage bosses on the underside and rack mounts on the dropouts. This brings flexible fitting options perfect for Bikepacking, with many more luggage possibilities. As our customers evolve their uses of their bikes, our bikes too evolve. The Solaris is just as happy tackling long distance adventures as it is grabbing a quick power hour.

We do things differently at Cotic. We assemble every single bike to order, and have loads of options for builds, so your Cotic is your perfect dream bike.
We now have a Factory Collection option on the bikes. Come down to our base on the edge of the Peak District, and we will set up your bike, the suspension, fit pedals, get you all comfortable. You can even take your new Cotic out on its maiden voyage around our demo loop, straight from our workshop door.

The chart is a guide to frame size. Longshot Geometry means that the frames are low and long, with plenty of standover room. We recommend going for the size suggested for your height on the chart, and getting all the benefits of running a super short and responsive 35-45mm stem. It's a game changer.
Our new Cotic "C" Sizing tightens the gaps between sizing, and give you more options to size up or down as you wish.
Make sure you consider your leg length as well. If you upsize you might not be able to fit a longer dropper post due to the collar hitting the seat tube top. Maximum seatpost insertion for calculating dropper post options is on the chart.

We have several levels of stock build which are based around our favourite parts in builds you can trust. We never specify anything we haven't ridden, tested and enjoyed. However, just about everything in your build can be customised to help with fit (contact us if you need help) or to personalise your bike. Want a different fork? Shock? Brakes? Wheels? Tyres? Bars? Stem? Longer drop seatpost? Women's saddle? Men's saddle? Colour matched Hope components? No problem. It's your bike.
All the bikes are assembled from a frame right here in the UK by us. We can do everything from bare frame to complete bike: Send us your favourite saddle and grips to fit. Send us your wheels if you have a nice pair you want to use. There's no point you getting kit you don't want. It's wasteful. That gives you almost limitless options to customise and tune your bike to your needs. If you can't see an option you'd like on the order form, get in touch. We all know it's good to head off piste sometimes!

Radical Longshot geometry keeps the bike stable through the rough stuff, planted in the corners and pinpoint accurate in the steep tech. Couple a super short 35mm stem to the optimised head angle and the bike really pushes you on, looking for every stump to boost off, rock to gap and berm to rail, keeping you connected to the trail while maintaining incredible poise and composure.
Reynolds 853 builds a light, lively and fantastically robust front end, and includes our custom ride tuned Ovalform top tube which helps to deliver that famous ride feel. The frames' steel construction is compliant and naturally ground moulding, extracting grip and feedback from the trail where you thought there was none. Pair it to our custom sized and shaped heat treated cromoly rear end for the lightest, toughest, most beautiful riding frame.
All Cotic bikes are assembled in the UK from and frame up. That way, we can build exactly what you want. Your dream bike!
We have set specifications, but these are just the start. Want the Silver spec bike with tubeless tyres? Easy! Want a big can air shock on your droplink bike instead of the inline? It's there too. Full colour matched Hope parts, and add the matching brakes too? It's a click away, and everything else in between. If it's not a choice on the order form, just ask.
When you contact us you are talking to the people who design the frames and will be building your bike. We check it and build and pack it in our award winning bike boxes with the same care we would our own bike, because we know how important it is. We build your bike, for you.

Cotic frames are designed, developed, engineered and tested entirely by us at our base in Chesterfield, in the UK. The Peak District is right on our doorstep and is a perfect proving ground for developing world class bikes. Our founder - Cy Turner - is the lead designer and engineer, and our frames are rigorously ride tested by everyone at Cotic as well as our brand ambassadors. The frames are fully certified and lab tested in excess of the requirements of ISO4210 safety standards.
This frame is hand made and painted by Fort in Czechia, chosen because of their years of experience building high end frames with our favourite materials, their top quality finish and passion for lovely bikes. We work closely with them to ensure the frames meet our high standards.
Each frame has anti-corrosion protection applied before going to paint. After we've agonised over the colours, designs and decals the frames are painted to the highest quality including a protective clear coat, before extensive QC. Once the frames reach us in the UK, we carry out further QC, and prep the frames for headset and bottom bracket installation.
As always, all complete bikes are built to order by us here in the Peak District, to the exact spec of your choice. We build your bike for you.
