21/12/2006 : Close down for the Holidays
Christmas is coming, so we're closing down from Friday 22nd December 2006 3pm, opening up again Wednesday 3rd January 2007. We will still be dispatching on Friday as per usual, so if you'd like to treat yourself to that last minute pressie, get in touch by 5pm today (Thursday 21st December) and we'll send it. It will almost certainly arrive before New Year.
From all of us at Cotic, have a great holiday and we'll see you on the flip side.

may ask. You'd have check out P123 of this months GQ Magazine.

07/11/2006 : Cotic Race Team off to a Great Start
Since signing for Cotic in October, Kate Potter and husband/skills tutor/pit bitch Ian have left for her native Australia so she can compete in their national series. Despite a few ups and downs, her first race went pretty well.....
06/12/2006 : Max rotor size on ROADHOG forks
Although we never explicitly stated not to when we launched the ROADRAT, it's come to our attention that some people have been running 180mm and 185mm rotors on their ROADHOG forks. This is a whole tonne of power for a light usage fork that isn't designed for rotors this big. Please limit your rotor size to 160mm, this should be plenty for road use. Any use of rotors larger than 160mm will invalidate your warranty, effective from today.
28/11/2006 : New panel options available with SODA orders
14/11/2006 : Simple & BFe product pages now available
13/11/2006 : SODA frames back in stock
Our acclaimed titanium hardtail is available to order from stock once again. Here's what Mountain Biking UK had to say about it in their latest issue :
"Cotic are leading the long forked movement and producing some brilliant bikes. Their titanium Soda is no exception; it is built without compromise for the demands of British trail riders."
We've added a new panel decal option for the SODA, it's the white 'wrap' design that has been appearing on our prototypes over the last year or so. We'll also be adding a few more new panel options in the near future, but for now there are a limited number of red, olive and orange panels still available. As always, our framebuilder pages can be used to see the panel options .
06/11/2006 : The ROADRAT complete singlespeed bike launched
We've been threatening to do it for a while now, but as of this week we're shipping fully specced ROADRATs for you people who haven't got the time or inclination to fight with spanners. We dropped off the first sample at Singletrack, as Sim needed a long term test bike, and he's pretty excited about it. Read what he had to say on their blog.
The frame is the same as our stock ROADRAT frame, and the wheels are regular cassette hubs with a singlespeed converter, so if you want gears it's only a mech, shifter, cassette and chain away.
Full bikes bought direct from us are only partially assembled as we need to get them into a reasonable sized box. Fear not though, as we do the tricky stuff so all you'll need to do is pop the wheels in and fit the stem/bars to the forks. Once there the brakes will need setting up and headset adjusting then you'll be ready to go. And if the thought of even that level of mild fiddling fills you with fear, any one of our handful of dealers should be able to furnish you with a 'don't wrap it, I'll ride it home' proposition.
05/11/2006 : The roadcyclinguk.com "Project Commuter"
One of us was lucky enough to spend the mornings and evenings of the London Cycle Show week blasting the streets on a ROADRAT built up by roadcyclinguk.com to be a very fast, very fun commuter. The first write up about the build is now on their website. Go and check it out if you were thinking of getting something fast and uncomplicated. Alternatively, check out our pictures of the bike in our previous news item.

At Cycle Show last Thursday, we announced the formation of our first racing effort, Cotic Bontrager. This will be centered around rising star of the racing world Kate Potter, with title sponsorship and technical support from ourselves and Bontrager Wheelworks and Components. We couldn't be happier to have Kate and Bontrager on board, and long time Cotic suppliers Pace and Hope are also supplying equipment to us as well as new boys Nike Cycling, Crank Bros, Nite Rider, TORQ Fitness and SRAM.

12/10/2006 : Cycle Show - New Models
We're back from Cycle Show now and have just about caught up on our sleep! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by to say hello and have a look at the new things we were showing off. It's always good to be able to really show what we're about and what we do, and we really hope all of you who came to see us like what you saw.
For those who didn't make it to ExCeL, we launched a new singlespeed version of the SOUL called Simple and a beefier hardtail called, somewhat predictably, the BFe.
Product pages will be up in a couple of weeks, and frames will be available early in 2007.

What are we doing at the moment? Well we're rushed off our feet preparing for this year's Cycle Show. There's lots to get ready, as will become clear if you pop along to our stand (B1) on the weekend of the show, the 6-8th of October.
14/08/2006 : New components in stock
We have some fresh stock from our UK component suppliers, and there
are a few interesting additions we've been looking forward to getting
for a while.
First up are the PACE RC41 XCAM forks with the 20mm axle. We're doing them
for £480, when bought with a COTIC frame,
saving £59 off retail. Lightweight without being noodly, just like our frames.
Also, we've got USE seatposts back in stock, and they're the fantastic new SUMOs.
We're stocking the Aluminium version in Black in a sensibly long 400mm.
They're £45 with a frame.
20/06/2006 : It's SSMM time
We're going to be in the Malvern Hills on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come and see us on our stand if you're going to the event. Don't worry, you're not bothering us, we like seeing people. Of course all this socializing, racing and demoing our bikes means that no orders will be going out until Friday 30th, but we can't be in two places at once, now can we?

usual package includes frame, forks and a derailleur hanger for £255. Secondly,
the full bike price quoted is correct (although the spec is different to
that pictured) and will be available in
another couple
of months time.

12/01/2006 : Rock Shox have landed
Following our hook up with SRAM last year, we've just received our first batch of forks for sale with our Soul and Soda frames. With Rock Shox offering such great value products this year, we wanted to go with something that would slide in below the high end forks we already offer, so with that in mind from this week we have the Recon 351 U-Turn in stock. It offers the latest Rock Shox Motion Control damping, with the U-Turn coil spring system making them adjustable between 85-130mm travel. This is an absolutely perfect match for Cotic Ultra Compact Geometry. More (slightly confusing) fork information on the Rock Shox website. And if you'd like an impartial opinion, go and read what Bikemagic thought of the Recon's less expensive and heavier sibling, the Tora.
These babies retail for £220, but when bought with a Soul or Soda frame they are included for just £185! Superb forks and Soul riding has never been so affordable.
11/01/2006 : January Sale! SOUL Frames and Maverick Forks
Our first ever January sale is a modest affair, but we've got some great
deals on some excess SOUL frame stock and Maverick forks.
We have the following frames for sale:
10 v2 small SOUL frames, various colours (including 1 orange), most with
v-brake bosses as well as disc mounts.
3 v2 XL SOUL frames, blood red, disc only.
All sale frames are £340 including seat QR and delivery, and it's
first come, first served. All are full warranty, full spec items;
they just don't have the latest rear triangle tubing or gussets,
and some have the v-brake bosses. The full range of decal options
is available as usual.
We've also got some Maverick SC32's in stock which we need to move on
to make room for our new Rock Shox stuff. The forks can be bought
without a frame, and include the front hub for £390. That's a saving
of £160 off the combined fork/hub retail price.
Numbers are limited,
so grab a bargain while you can by
emailing us!
07/01/2006 : People are getting their hands on the first few SODA frames
The first person to send in some words and photos of their SODA is the super keen Jon Edwards, long term SOUL owner and the secret weapon in the COTIC 24 hr race team. He rode the prototype at Malvern this summer, but we didn't actually let him race on it as we didn't want him riding a much lighter bike than us. Now he's gone and bought his own, so this year we won't be able to stop him! Go and check out the photos from his build.
06/01/2006 : Replacement Decals available
We've been around for long enough now for there to be some "Old Souls" out there. As we got things right first time there's no need for you lucky owners of those frames to be looking to buy a new one, but you may be after that "New Bike Look." If so then we can supply new decal sets, including any colour of our protective down-tube panel stickers. Full sets cost £20 and individual decals are also available, ask us for prices. To assist you there's a new Decal Selector that allows you to check out any of our past and present paint colours with current panel colours.
The Decal Selector is also a great way to check out all our colour combinations
if you're a new customer.
Note: current frame colours are Black or Blood for the SOUL and of course Ti for the SODA.
04/01/2006 : SODA frames now in stock
Our new double butted titanium frame is now available to order from stock.
