We've just about recovered from the biggest event of the year, Ard Rock 2022 was a belter.
We had a cracking weekend showing off our bikes, riding with Cotic owners on the CC rides, eating delicious food and drinking too much beer.
Our 'guess how many bottle boss bolt are in the water bottle' contest was good fun, thanks to everyone who had a guess. We've already emailed everyone who entered, but in case you are wondering, there were 893 in there! We're already working on more daft ideas for future shows.
It was a busy one as ever, and a much bigger event than last year; more stands, more riders and the same unmissable vibe. We didn't do any racing ourselves this year, but saw plenty of Cotics rolling around with number boards on, well done to everyone who took part, and thanks for swinging by the stand to share your stoke. We love seeing our bikes out there in the wild making people happy.
Chay managed to blag himself a last minute entry and had a fun day out on Saturday's Enduro. A couple of unfortunate punctures saw him roll into a respectable 17th in Vets, and he was still smiling at the end and partying well into the rainy night.
Big shout to Stu Bailey who took his shiny new Magenta BfeMAX to 62nd in Vets, and the second fastest hardtail in Vets! Matt Greenwood took his Army Green Bfe with lovely matching Lyriks to second fastest hardtail in the senior category too. Well done lads!
Even bigger shout to Daniel Andres who took his Gunmetal+Copper BfeMAX to fastest hardtail overall on the day, great effort! We've said it before; you'd be faster on a Cotic!
It's not all about the racing though, something we increasingly felt this year; Ard Rock really is becoming a true Mountain Bike Festival and not just a race. Our owners rides were a real treat this year, thanks to those who joined us. We promise to do more Cotic CC events, starting with an evening session at Grenoside on Thursday 11th August, see you there?
It was great to get some demo bikes out there again too, a highlight was one particular demo rider who came back to the stand after testing out the C2 RocketMAX, and was literally lost for words! He was grinning so much it took him ages to tell us how much he enjoyed the bike, a lovely reminder of why we do what we do.
We will of course be back next year, in force and between the tapes again along with demo bikes, beers and good craic. We're already looking forward to it.
Sam.
