Cascade Flat Bar is our multi-terrain explorer:
Bikepacking, trails, utility, distance.
Some bikes have one job. The Cascade Flat Bar has all of them. Trails, tracks, loaded tours, big days out into the back of beyond. It handles all of it with the same unhurried confidence. Signature Cotic ride feel that breathes with the trail, and a rigid simplicity and beautifully clean silhouette.
The Ride
The Cascade Flat Bar handles like all Cotic's: Agile, confidence inspiring, and immediately enjoyable. The Sureshot geometry keeps the steering quick and light on its' feet, and it works brilliantly with everything from big MTB risers to big sweep Jones style bars.
The Reynolds 853 frame filters the rough stuff and keeps you fresh and comfortable for hours (or days) on end. Add the Cotic Alpaca steel rigid fork and big-volume tyres, and you have a bike that covers ground faster and more comfortably than it has any right to.
It's the kind of bike that makes you want to add another hour to a ride, or another day to a trip.
You are a Cascade Flat Bar rider if...
Built On Experience
Gravel and bikepacking bikes spend a lot of time offroad. That being the case, doesn't it make sense to trust a company who has made some of the best riding steel mountain bikes for over twenty years to design a bike like this? The Cascade carries all of that offroad design experience into a rigid platform that's equally at home on a quick evening loop or a week-long expedition. Reynolds 853, Sureshot geometry, and every fitting and mount you need to go as light or as loaded as the day demands.
My 'take you anywhere' bike.
My Cascade is the ultimate adventure machine; no matter where you want to go, the Cascade can take you there. From a quick pootle around the Cotswolds to the boggy marshlands of the Pennines or the dusty Namibian desert, it can do it all.
For me, it's the perfect 'everything' bike. It’s strong, sturdy, capable (and stylish), and will carry you and your gear across continents if you want it to (it took me across Africa). It has mounting points for days so if you're an over packer like me, you'll have space for everything and the kitchen sink. On the other hand, the bike feels lighter than air when you’ve taken off your bags, it’s fantastic fun on big days out and whizzing around lanes with your mates.

With all the current colour frames sold, we're announcing that the following batch will be in Gloss Forest, with Silver graphics. More frames will also be available to be painted your way, using our A La Carte programme. You can order your frame or bike now to be at the front of the queue when they arrive.
Introducing the Cascade Gen2, from October 2025 onwards.

The chart is a guide to frame size for the Cascade: Sureshot Geometry. With flat or risers bars you will need a stem between 80 and 100mm to get a comfortable position. For big sweep or alt-bars you might need more. We're always here to help. Don't hesitate to ask. You'll need at least a 350mm seatpost due to the frames having space for dropper posts. Drop us a line at size@cotic.co.uk and we'll be happy to discuss size and set up based on what you're riding at the moment.

Bikes are now available worldwide, with free shipping to UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
We have several levels of stock build which are based around our favourite parts in builds you can trust. We never specify anything we haven't ridden, tested and enjoyed. However, just about everything in your build can be customised to help with fit (contact us if you need help) or to personalise your bike. Want a different fork? Shock? Brakes? Wheels? Tyres? Bars? Stem? Longer drop seatpost? Women's saddle? Men's saddle? Colour matched Hope components? No problem. It's your bike.
All the bikes are assembled from a frame right here in the UK by us. We can do everything from bare frame to complete bike: Send us your favourite saddle and grips to fit. Send us your wheels if you have a nice pair you want to use. There's no point you getting kit you don't want. It's wasteful. That gives you almost limitless options to customise and tune your bike to your needs. If you can't see an option you'd like on the order form, get in touch. We all know it's good to head off piste sometimes!
Tap on a build title below to see the default specification and price for that build... then hit the 'CONFIGURE YOUR BIKE' button to see all the customisations you can make to the build. When you select your country at the bottom of the form, sales taxes (VAT), pricing and shipping will automatically update for you. Once you're happy, order your bike!

The Cascade Flat Bar has our new Sureshot geometry. This takes all the principles that makes our Longshot mountain bike geometry so good and tailors it for gravel and less extreme terrain, and comfort over long distances.
Plenty of room for luggage in the spacious front triangle, while still allowing enough clearance for a dropper post for every rider, so you can really get the most out of SureShot geometry and your Cascade.

Reynolds 853 builds a light, lively and fantastically robust front end, and includes our custom ride tuned Ovalform top tube which helps to deliver that famous ride feel. The frames' steel construction is compliant and naturally ground moulding, extracting grip and feedback from the trail where you thought there was none. Pair it to our custom sized and shaped heat treated cromoly rear end for the lightest, toughest, most beautiful riding frame.
The Cascade features our all new Cotic Alpaca fork. It’s a taper steerer, heat treated cromoly wonder with so many fittings and features. 3 bolt Anything Cage on both legs, micro-rack, fender bosses, low rider mounts. Internal dynamo routing. Boost110 x 15 thru axle and Flat Mount +20 brake mount for up to 180mm front rotors. Smooth riding, clean lines, multi function.
If you want more comfort or are venturing further off-road, the RockShox SID Race Day Ultimate 100mm suspension forks are a great option and work perfectly with the geometry.
The Cascade is for off road riding and uses 29” wheels, so it features mountain bike style Boost110 front and Boost148 rear hub spacing for robust wheels. 53mm Boost chainline 1x dedicated design continues the simple, reliable theme.
Cascade is a dirt bike, so it needs proper tyres. It’s native designed for up to 29 x 2.4” tyres at the rear, and up to 29 x 2.6 at the front. This does mean you can fit 27.5” x 2.8” rear / 27.5 x 3.0" front should you so wish, but those 29ers are where it’s at for all round performance.
As part of the development of this most adventurous of adventure bikes, we have designed a perfectly fitted frame bag. Handmade in the UK, it’s a stable and secure lace up fit, with a removable flouro liner making the interior easy to see, and easy to remove on those cafe stops.
There are bosses all over the Cascade frame and Alpaca fork. Most of these are in the main front triangle and are spaced at 64mm bottle boss spacing, so you have maximum flexibility in loading your bike. You can fit 2 bottles on the down tube, a bottle and an "Anything Cage", and pretty much anything else with bottle boss mounting. The possibilities are endless. These also double up as the hose routing bosses on the down tube.
Mounts for full length mudguards/fenders are present on both the frame and fork.
There are 3 boss "Anything Cage" mounts under the down tube, under the top tube and on either side of the Alpaca fork.
On the Alpaca fork and the rear triangle there are rack mounts for full racks front and rear, lowrider racks on the fork, and there are bosses halfway up the seatstay and fork leg for mounting mini racks like the Nitto M18 either front or rear.
Cascade and Alpaca have got you covered for luggage.
All Cotic bikes are assembled in the UK from and frame up. This way we can build exactly what you want. Your dream bike!
We have set specifications, but these are just the start. If it's not a choice on the order form, just ask. We have a bunch of wheel options from Hope and HUNT, tyre options from WTB and Wolfpack, and many more things to make your Cascade your own.
When you contact us you are talking to the people who design the frames and will be building your bike. We check it and build and pack it in our award winning bike boxes with the same care we would our own bike, because we know how important it is.
We build your bike, for you.

Cotic frames are designed, developed, engineered and tested entirely by us at our base in the Peak District, near Sheffield in the UK. Our founder - Cy Turner - is the lead designer and engineer, and our frames are rigorously ride tested by everyone at Cotic. They are fully certified and lab tested in excess of the requirements of ISO4210 safety standards.
Cascade Gen2 frames delivered from October 2025, in all sizes, were hand made in small batches in Portugal.
A La Carte frames are painted to order right here in the UK, just a few miles from Cotic HQ. You can choose the base colour and decal colour from our extensive list of tried and tested paints, and you also have the choice of matte or gloss finish on whichever colourway you choose.
If you order the new Forest stock colour, those frames have been built by Fort in Czechia, and they will be finishing the frames as well, with their tough, beautiful gloss powdercoat.
As always, all complete bikes are built to order by us right here in our workshop, to the exact spec of your choice. We build your bike for you.
Cotic Cascade Bronze Build Full Review on Singletrackworld
It’s very hard to fault the Cotic Cascade. I am sad to be sending it back. Do you need to know more? Well, OK then. But I reckon you’re still going to want one by the time we get to the end."
What made me feel totally safe all loaded up and trundling along the Pennine Bridleway became faster and more playful when freed of the bags. Popping the front of the bike up and over obstacles – or perhaps off the odd lip – is plenty of fun. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden such a ‘I’d take this almost anywhere’ drop bar bike. It’s also been a while since I’ve felt quite so torn about giving it back.
Cotic Cascade Gold Build Full Review on bikepacking.com
"Cotic only makes steel bikes, which is one thing I love about the brand. They’re also known for pushing the envelope with progressive geometry. As evidenced in our 2022 Gear or the Year awards, I was blown away with the SolarisMAX, which made me wonder if some of their other bikes shared the same DNA—namely, a well-conceived tubeset design."

"The GRX drivetrain with a Deore 11-51 tooth 11-speed cassette and a Wolf Tooth Goatlink provides an excellent gear range for bikepacking and trail riding, and it’s nice to see a customized setup like this come in a stock build."
"The Cascade’s angles, long reach, and high trail add up to a bike that I found to be one of the more confident drop-bar descenders I’ve tried. That confidence is the cornerstone of what makes the Cascade special. Not only can it rail down gravel roads to no abandon, it’s also pretty sure-footed on singletrack trails. It offers a good mix of stability and handling that generally feels like a solid cross-country mountain bike in a lot of situations."
"The tubeset is one of the more comfortable I’ve tried in the drop-bar 29er category, too."
"It’s at home on gravel, singletrack, and loaded up for a multi-day trip, and it makes a versatile choice for those who like to keep their route options open. As the wise adage says: you can’t have too much of a good thing."
First Ride Live Review on Guy Kes TV
"It's fun, it's confident, it's got a nice vibe. It's just a feel good bike, and feels better and better, the further you go."
4/5 full review of the Cascade Bronze bike on off.road.cc
"This is the most stable and easily controlled adventure/gravel bike I've ever ridden."
"The Cascade's stability is a real advantage when you have it loaded up too..."

"Huge tyre clearance; wide variety of build options; unrivalled drop-bar capability"
UKGravelCO's review of the Cascade
"So who is this bike for? Firstly anyone who wants to put a massive grin on their face, the bike is so much fun!"
"If you have never ridden a drop bar bike and are coming from an MTB back round you will feel right at home. If you have never ridden off road and want to leave the tarmac to dabble in the dirtside, then this bike will flatter and cosset you while you hone your new found skills riding the trails."
"So, Cotic Cascade: Drop bar MTB or gravel bike? Who cares! Throw your leg over one and pedal off with the biggest grin you’ve had on your face for a long time!"
Bikeperfect.com's 4/5 review of the Cascade
"And while some of you will be here for the tire and baggage bolting versatility and others for the slim steel aesthetics, handling is undoubtedly one of the best of many great aspects of the Cascade."
