Alpaca is our rigid steel fork - Rugged and long for mountain bikes and adventure bikes
Bikepacking, gravel, dirt
The Alpaca fork was developed for our Cascade drop bar dirt bike (read more about that here). It's a long, steel rigid fork that's perfect for bike packing missions, or just simplifying your ride. It's made to Cotic specifications with heat-treated cromoly tubing, taper steerer and is based around replacing 29er 100mm suspension forks.
It has lots and lots (and lots) of bosses and mounts. It's thru axle and short 44mm offset for steering accuracy, and flat mount +20 brake for proper size disc rotors up to 180mm.
Axle to Crown: 483mm
Steerer: Tapered 1.5" > 1-1/8", 300mm uncut
Front Hub: Boost110 15mm thru axle (axle supplied with fork)
Flat Mount Brakes: Most drop bar brakes are now flat mount, and the Alpaca features a Flat Mount +20 front for 160mm or 180mm rotors. Simply use the regular Flat Mount adaptor: 160mm rotor uses the "140" position on the adaptor, 180mm rotor uses the "160" position on the adaptor.
Post Mount Brakes: Most MTB/flatbar brakes are post mount, and can be fitted with a 180mm rotor using Shimano adaptor SM-MA-F160P/D
Tyres: 29 x 2.6" or 27.5 x 3.0"

The Alpaca doesn't just work for our Cascade either. It will fit a bunch of our current and legacy mountain bikes too. You can find the geometry of your older Cotic over on our Product Archive.
Fitting the Alpaca will affect the geometry as follows:
