The Tonic: Beautiful, light Titanium for Road, trails, gravel, adventure
The luxurious Tonic is our drop bar dream bike. All the fun and capability of the Escapade, but crafted from gorgeous, head turning Titanium. Fast tarmac, gravel, touring; the Tonic does it all in style.
Lightweight and comfortable, the Tonic will tackle whatever surface takes your fancy. Sleek, tough and durable; it is ready for you to follow the tarmac out of the city and onto the dirt, or load it up with bags for epic adventures. Our titanium drop bar superbike is just as special with fast and racy tyres as it is with floaty gravel rubber.
With it's stunning polished finish, this is a bike that will bring you big grins for countless miles. The Tonic simply oozes class.
The Tonic uses butted 3Al/2.5V seamless titanium tubing, saving over 600 grams compared to its steel sibling the Escapade. The included forks are our full carbon RB5, which have been updated to feature 3 "Anything Cage" style bosses on each leg. Add one of our UK made custom fit frame bags and you have the makings of a seriously fast, fluid and fun map crossing machine.

The chart is a guide to frame size for the Tonic: Ultra Compact Geometry - Road means that the frames are low and long. You'll probably need a 350mm seatpost due to the compact sizing. Note, the sloping top tube design needs to be taken into account if you're comparing seat tube size with other bikes. Drop us a line at size@cotic.co.uk and we'll be happy to discuss size and set up based on what you're riding at the moment.
The Tonic is now only available in one size, XS/52. Please check out the steel Escapade for larger sizes.

The Tonic uses our proven - and award winning - Ultra Compact Geometry idea, keeping seat tubes fairly short and frames compact for plenty of room to move on the bike, and a longer seatpost for ride comfort. Actual top tube lengths follow more traditional road geometry, with proportional fit and optimised head angles to maintrain ride feel whilst minimising toe overlap.
The Tonic uses butted 3Al/2.5V seamless titanium tubing. It features the Cotic Ovalform top tube for optimised ride and handling, and a smooth integral headset tapered head tube. Custom shaped rear end with great clearance completes the picture for the lightest, toughest, most beautiful riding frame. Durable, clean, graceful.
The Tonic features our latest fork - the RB5. Full carbon, just 550 grams, it's light, strong, rides beautifully and has tonnes of clearance. 700x45 or 650x50 in the front should you so wish. All modern conveniences are included, with 12x100 thru axle, flat mount brakes and mudguard eyelets and luggage bosses on each leg.
The Cotic Tonic features the industry standard 142x12 rear thru axle to match the 12x100 front fork.
The Tonic is based on our Escapade, which has been a gravel bike since before there were gravel bikes. It's always had big clearances and discs, but we think that works just as well on road as off it. Sure you can speed it up on something like a 700x28c, but we supply the bikes with big volume 37c slicks. They roll really fast, but float over the potholes in the road and bumps in the trail. With the improved clearance provided by the latest Wide Chainline gravel cranks, you can run up to 700x44.
Alongside this we have the option for WTB Road Plus, using their fantastic 650b KOM Light rims, and the WTB 650 x 47 tubeless tyres. There's the Horizon slick for smiles and miles, or the radical new Senduro ramped knob tyre, which blurs the lines between road and offroad, and the Byway semi-tread tyre fitting in between as the all rounder. New for 2021, there is more mud clearance and you can fit up to 650x50 tyres.
Smaller rims with big volume tyres give a similar overall diameter to the more usual 700c road wheels, but comfort and grip are massively improved. The larger 47mm wide tyres running tubeless as low as 35 psi float over road imperfections and rough tracks with no weight penalty over the larger 700c wheels and smaller tyres.
The Tonic offers multiple cable management solutions, including semi-internal routing for gear cables, full Shimano Di2 compatibility and optional internal routing for a dropper post.
All Cotic bikes are assembled in the UK from and frame up. We have set specifications, but these are just the start. If it's not a choice on the order form, just ask. We have a bunch of wheel options from Hope, tyre options from WTB, and many more things to make your Tonic your own.
When you contact us you are talking to the people who design the frames and will be building your bike. We check it and build and pack it in our award winning bike boxes with the same care we would our own bike, because we know how important it is. We build your bike, for you.

Remember, the Tonic is based directly on our fantastic, slinky steel Escapade.
Cotic frames are designed, developed, engineered and tested entirely by us at our base in the Peak District, near Sheffield in the UK. Our founder - Cy Turner - is the lead designer and engineer, and our frames are rigorously ride tested by everyone at Cotic, and our Race Team. They are fully certified and lab tested in excess of the requirements of ISO4210 safety standards.
This frame is hand made in Taiwan by our specially selected framebuilder, chosen because of their vast experience with our favourite materials, and their top quality finish. They are the best in Taiwan for what we need, and have been making our frames to our high standards since day one.
After careful finishing, the frames receive extensive QC by our agent in Taiwan. Once the frames reach us in the UK, we carry out further QC, and prep the frames for headset and bottom bracket installation.
As always, all complete bikes are built to order by us here in the Peak District, to the exact spec of your choice. We build your bike for you.
