The Escapade: Made For In-Between

Some bikes are made for roads. Some for trails. The Escapade was made for the in-between; for the lane that dissolves into gravel, the gravel that fades into dirt, and that becomes wherever you feel like going next.

The Escapade isn't about watts or wind tunnels. It's about that precious time when you're moving through changing landscapes, feeling the rhythm shift beneath your wheels as the world opens up around you. It's about harnessing that signature Cotic steel feel to leave you fresh after hours in the saddle, ready to go again tomorrow. A Gravel Ride bike, not a Gravel Race bike, and so much better for it.

The Ride

Frame

The Escapade is quick and direct when you want to push on, and supremely comfortable when the day is long and the road is rough. There's a liveliness and suppleness to the ride that's unmistakably Cotic, and it starts with the material. The frame is hand built in the UK from custom blended Reynolds 853 steel, chosen because it rides like nothing else.

There is 700x50 tyre clearance for comfort and capability, and you can fit a 40mm travel suspension forks if you want to push further off the beaten track.

Fork

The new bespoke steel gravel fork is central to the signature Cotic feel. Where almost every gravel bike fits a carbon fork, we've developed our own - because steel is the material we believe in, because it lasts longer, and because a fork that matches the frame in material and philosophy delivers a more cohesive, natural ride. We've even designed a bespoke slim, flush headset to complement the fork's slender 1 1/8" steerer, because the details matter, and because a beautiful bike should look the part from every angle.

Handling

Cotic knows a thing or two about making amazing handling offroad bikes, and those ideas run deep in the new Escapade. Bespoke Sureshot geometry — longer wheelbase, lower BB, slacker head angles — creates a fluid, confidence-inspiring ride on rough ground. Shorter stems maintain perfect rider fit and dial the agility back in for pin-sharp feel through the bars.

You are an Escapade rider if...

You ride on the road but keep finding yourself drawn towards gravel tracks and quiet lanes.

You've looked at carbon gravel bikes and wondered if there's something with more soul.

You want a bike that's as beautiful to own as it is to ride.

You want something lighter and faster than a full adventure setup, without giving up the ability to explore.

You love your current Escapade, but want a little more offroad performance.

You want a bike handbuilt in the UK from premium materials, that will last and improve with age.

Built On Experience

The Escapade is now in its 6th Generation. First introduced in 2014 — gravel before gravel was a thing — it carries a decade of real-world riding into its most beautiful, best handling expression yet. The geometry is reimagined, it's handbuilt in the UK, and every detail is there because it should be. Your Escapade, built for you.

Kelly-Jayne Collinge

Ode to the Escapade.

I absolutely LOVE my Escapade. It is my bike to go out for the quick evening blast and also the big day out, the bike to explore on, to enjoy the nursery run, the food shop and the commute. My Escapade and I have travelled in Europe and Canada on some wicked gravel events, carried me through some big days, over big horrible hills and down some marvellous descents. It's carried me through pregnancy and faultlessly into mum life. Towing the trailer, with the macride and without. It's sturdy, confidence inspiring, good looking and flippin' fun. Whether I'm shooting down some singletrack or grinding through the gravel-it feels so capable. On the road and off its my go to bike for adventure (and everywhere in-between).

I f***ing love it.

Note, the sloping top tube design needs to be taken into account if you're comparing seat tube size with other bikes. Drop us a line at size@cotic.co.uk and we'll be happy to discuss size and set up based on what you're riding at the moment.

Features and Benefits
Cotic Sureshot Geometry

The Escapade 6 uses our Sureshot geometry philosophy. This takes all the principles that makes our Longshot mountain bike geometry so good and tailors it to drop bars. Long top tubes, short stems and slack head angles aren't just for mountain bikes! Wide and flared drop bars give you multiple hand positions for maximum comfort and stability all day, while 70mm stems keep the handling pin sharp for big grins.

Reynolds 853

Escapade 6 uses a custom blended tubeset built around a Reynolds 853 front triangle. It features short butted down tube, our signature ride tuned Ovalform top tube, and butted seat tube which helps to deliver that famous ride feel.

The rear triangle features Columbus chainstays and custom made T45 seatstays.

Full Steel Fork

For Escapade 6 we developed our own steel fork. It's slim 1 1/8" steerer and butted legs give sublime ride feel and huge toughness and longevity. We have developed our unique Cotic x Works components flush fit 1 1/8" headset to keep the lines clean and sweet with our new fork.

RB6 comes complete with Anything Cage luggage mounts on both legs, and mudguard/fender mounts too. 12x100 and flat mount brake, of course.

It's 430mm length means you can swap in a 40mm suspension fork and maintain perfect geometry.

Moving away from carbon fibre reduces reinforces our commitment to the environment and sustainability.

Thru Axle

The latest Cotic Escapade features 142x12 rear thru axle to match the 12x100 front fork.

Big Clearance Design

The Escapade as been a gravel bike since before there were gravel bikes. It's always had big clearances and discs, but we think that works just as well on road as off it. Frames have big clearances for big tyres.

For Escapade 6 we have upped clearance to 700x50 rear and 700x55 front.

A La Carte Colours

Origin : MADE IN BRITAIN

Cotic frames are designed, developed, engineered and tested entirely by us at our base in Chesterfield, on the edge of the Peak District in the UK. Our founder - Cy Turner - is the lead designer and engineer, and our frames are rigorously ride tested by everyone at Cotic and chosen test riders and ambassadors. The Escapade 6 is fully certified and lab tested in excess of the requirements of ISO4210 MTB safety standards.

The Escapade 6 frame is 100% UK made. The skilled guys at Five Land Bikes in Scotland manufacture the Reynolds 853 front triangles, Columbus chainstays and T45 seatstays, in small batches, to their exacting standards.

The frames are ED Coated to prevent corrosion, before being painted using tough and durable automotive spec paint by the Five Land guys, or our custom A La Carte painter Black Cat Customs. After they have completed their painstaking hand finishing process and their rigorous QC, the frame parts undergo further checking by us before assembly in the workshop at our HQ.

As a final added extra, all our made in Britain frames are Datatag'd from the factory. You will receive all your Datatag documents with your frame or bike when it's delivered.

As always, all complete bikes are built to order by us here at Cotic, to the exact spec of your choice. We build your bike for you.
